The Muzzleloader Division is dedicated to the sport of shooting muzzleloaders. We have a 25, 50 and 100 Yard range, plus a woods walk range. We have a club within the division called Bryan Station Muzzleloaders. We participate and host an annual rendezvous, which is an historical encampment portraying the Colonial Period of our American history. We have a primitive camping area for those with all the equipment and a modern camping area for those just getting started in the rendezvous events. We also participate in various events, such as the McConnell Springs Founders Day in Lexington where we do living history demonstrations for the general public. We are interested in the history of the colonial era and are willing to demonstrate to the public or to schools as requested.
We have an open shoot the fourth Sunday of each month, a members only silver shoot on the first Sunday of each month, and a woods walk shoot in any month with a fifth Sunday. The woods walk is also an open shoot. This shoot is where you walk through the woods, shoot out of your hunting pouch, and shoot at various targets in the woods. We also have a pistol match on the third Saturday of each month. You can use a cap and ball revolver or single shot black powder pistol during the match. All shoots are a lot of fun. If you are interested in shooting muzzleloaders whether it be a flintlock, caplock, or in-line, come on down to the range on any of our scheduled shoots and get in on the fun. Dues for 2011 are $20 to be a division member.
