Approved BGSL Hunters have the opportunity to take a fall turkey during the autumn season. In addition to the archery option, the BGSL also offers the opportunity to harvest a bird with your favorite shotgun during selected dates.

To qualify to hunt turkey this fall on the BGSL you must: 1  Be a member in good standing; present proof of hunter education 2   Pay the $40 fee (for each bird hunted) to the main club 3   Already be signed up as a BGSL small game hunter in good standing

You MUST sign in and sign out at the hunt log book located in the BGSL foyer to and from your turkey hunts. A maximum of 5 turkey hunter per zone will be allowed during the fall gun season. (A hunting youth and an adult is concerned “one hunter”) Birds taken must be properly tagged and inspected by BGSL operations staff or a BGSL Wildlife Comm. Member. There is a ONE BIRD Limit per hunter for the 2011-2012 fall season for anyone gun hunting on the League property. There is a ONE BIRD Limit per hunter for the 2011-2012 fall season for anyone archery hunting on League Property. A HUNTER MAY HARVEST A MAXIMUM OF TWO BIRDS (ONE BIRD IN GUN SEASON AND ONE IN ARCHERY SEASON). This is limit is enforced regardless of the bird's sex or size.

There will be a 15 bird limit on the BGSL property for the season. If and when the limit is reached, turkey opportunities will be shut down. This critical harvest information will be posted at the hunt logbook location as it occurs.

The cost to pursue turkey is $40 turkey fee (gun or archery) plus $40 small game fee – total of $80. There will be no refunds.

Those wishing to hunt turkey with archery equipment must meet the same qualification standards as BGSL deer hunters.

As an incentive to get our youth involved in the hunting sports, qualified youth hunters may turkey hunt during the Oct. fall turkey season (gun) for the reduced price of $25/youth hunter fee. Youth hunters afield still need to have an adult mentor present.
