Small Game 2012-2013
BGSL Small Game 2012-2013
Small game hunting opportunities exist for qualified members, their family and their sponsored guest(s). Small game on the BGSL is defined as rabbit and squirrel only. Small game opportunities will not include dove, quail, etc. All upland bird hunts (pheasant, chukar, quail) are considered separate hunt options and will be scheduled through the Operations Manager.
Please be careful while hunting and enjoy the time afield.

State Wildlife Laws/Regulations Always Apply
Qualified members MUST attend a scheduled hunter orientation class before hunting on BGSL property. During this short briefing, hunt guidelines will be reviewed and hunters will be informed of any changes which may be pertinent to their small game pursuits. Members must attend this orientation each year.
Hunt areas and restricted locations will be outlined during the orientation class. Areas may open or close due to various factors- some examples are: open events, logging, deer hunts, upland bird hunts, etc., Please keep yourself updated by always checking the information posted at the hunt logbook- located in the main clubhouse foyer area.
Equipment Permitted
Due to safety concerns, rifles may not be used to harvest small game. Shotguns and airguns of adequate power are permitted.
Minimum Requirements
All participating members must:
Be a current member in good standing with the League
Possess a valid KY hunting license
Pay the associated fees prior to hunting small game
Small Game Fee
There will be $40 fee for those qualified members wishing to hunt rabbit or squirrel. In an effort to promote a positive hunting experience and maximize family participation, the small game tag will be considered a “BGSL Membership tag”. This means that the fee paid by a qualified member shall also cover his/her spouse and children while hunting with the qualified member. (All game laws still apply to everyone)
Guidelines Regarding Youth and Guest Hunters
In a further effort to introduce a new generation of people to the hunting tradition, approved small game hunters may take up to 2 youth (as defined by the KDFWR) per hunting adult w/o an associated fee. They will, however, need to fill out a no-cost liability waiver-located on the table by the hunt logbook, before hunting.
Qualified members wishing to take adult guests small game hunting, must complete a non-member guest pass and pay an associated fee of $15 per guest. (This is a $10 guest pass to the main club and $5 to be designated for wildlife projects conducted on-site) An adult member can supervise a maximum of 2 persons (adult or minor) at a time. Guests MUST have a hunter education card and record this number upon the hunting guest pass.
