Proficiency training in all 3 platforms

What youʼll need:
Pistol/holster/mags, a rifle/mags, and a shotgun
100 rounds of shotgun (one value pack of birdshot) Minimum
200 rounds Pistol Minimum
100 Minimum (200+ preferred rifle)

Pistol Techniques weʼll cover:
Draw, Reloads, Movement, Natural Point of Aim, Malfunctions,

Shotgun Techniques weʼll cover:
Reloads (the most important part of shotgunning is keeping it loaded!)
Presentation, Aim, Malfunction

Rifle Techniques weʼll cover:
Standing, Presentation, Turns, Movement, Reloads, Malfunction

USPSA/IPSC (United States Practical Shooting Association/International Practical Shooting Confederation) matches are held at BGSL on the first sunday of every month. Signups are from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Matches are open to nonmembers.

Silver Shoot for BGSL members only. This is a handicap shoot for a Silver medallion prize.

Description:

Steel Showdown is an action pistol match that requires the competitor to hit 5 or less Static steel targets. Most stages specify a specific steel target to be shot last (Stop Plate) This format is friendly to all skill levels and is a great event to introduce new shooters to action pistol event.

Set up 8:30 , Registration Starts 9:00, New Shooter Check out 9:30, Match starts 10:00.

**** New Shooters - (i.e. Any Shooter who has not had a new shooter check out at a BGSL Pistol Event) must attend a new shooters check out
or they will not be able to shoot.

Cost: BGSL member $10, Non- Members $15 – Second Gun $5 (Juniors - $5 with paying parent) **Junior 16 or younger

Equipment: Any safe centerfire pistol / revolver .355 (9mm) or above or Rim-Fire (.22 ) We recommend a minimum of 3 magazines – 5 being better for magazine holding 10 rds. or less. Holsters must be a strong side and cover the trigger when the pistol is holstered **Rim-Fire pistols may start at a low ready but must be bagged at the completion of each stage. Eye and hearing protection is required for shooters and spectators. Ammo – a typical match would require 100 – this is with no misses – BRING EXTRA. We will offer a second relay for shooters who which to shoot the match a second time. (Same pistol or different)

Here's your chance to learn about IDPA, (International Defensive Pistol Association,) in a fun and friendly environment. In this one day class you will learn the following

* The theory behind the sport
* The equipment needed to play
* The rules and scoring system used
* Some tips to make your matches more fun and exciting

Students will also have plenty of hands on shooting time and participate in a mini-IDPA style match.

The class will begin in the main clubhouse at 9am on March 14th 2010. The cost is $65.00 for BGSL members and $75.00 for non-BGSL members and you may register by sending payment to

IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) matches are held at BGSL on the third Saturday of every month. Signups are from 9:30 to 10 AM. The match fee is $20. BGSL members receive a $5 discount. Junior shooters get an additional $5 discount when accompanied by a paying parent or guardian. New shooters must be at the range by 9:00am for new shooter check in. IDPA membership is required before shooting your second match.
