In March, the Board voted to accept a bid to replace the aging (almost 30 year old) furnaces in
the clubhouse and take the opportunity to add Air Conditioning to the building, which has never
had Air Conditioning before. The six new furnaces are not only higher efficiency (90% vs. 80%)
but are ignition fired as well rather than standing pilot lights which burn gas continuously even
when the furnaces are off. These features should save a substantial amount of gas over the
course of a year. The benefits of air conditioning for all members should be obvious for both
general membership meetings and members’ private functions!
