An Appleseed KD is a long distance shoot and requires advanced skills. Only those that have previously attended an Appleseed program should sign up for this event. This is not the 25 yard Appleseed event for learning the fundamentals of marksmanship and rifle shooting. This is a two day event for the more serious rifle shooter. The Appleseed KD “know distance” label is to differentiate this event from the Appleseed “unknown distance” events.
Often these events will include shooting the AQT (Army Qualification Test) on the clock. The goal is to make every student a “4 MOA shooter” within the time constraints of AQT. Appleseed offers the chance to learn rifle marksmanship with affordable gear.
I have heard nothing but great comments from attendees of the Appleseed basic rifleman programs. I believe this will be the first time one of the more advanced Appleseed programs has been offered at BGSL.
